Human Resource Manager

TITLE: Human Resources Manager

REPORTS TO: Controller

JOB STATUS: Exempt (Full-Time Salaried)

FUNCTION:
• Manage human resource function and provide on-site support at McDonald and U-PARC locations

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct and coordinate recruitment efforts with hiring managers, including sourcing, screening,
interviewing, selecting, background checking, employment offers and on-boarding
• Administer employee benefit and leave programs, including health and welfare, workers
compensation, unemployment compensation and Family and Medical Leave
• Administer collective bargaining agreement; provide advice on contract compliance and interpretation
• Provide advice and support to management staff and employees on human resource issues and
concerns, including benefit questions, corrective action, problem solving and compliance with
employment laws and regulations
• Maintain employee files and records; monitor required health testing
• Develop and maintain human resource policies, employee handbook and job descriptions
• Plan and coordinate employee meetings and events
• Conduct exit interviews and monitor for issues and trends
• Serve as liaison with educational institutions and community-based organizations to coordinate
internship and co-op education programs
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and advance Reaxis’ progress and growth

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
• Minimum five years of generalist experience, encompassing multiple areas of human resource
practice, particularly recruitment and benefits administration
• Ability to work flexibly, as an HR department of one
• Demonstrable communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
• Labor relations experience
• HR Certification (HRCI or SHRM)
